In honor of the 50th anniversary of premier seafood restaurant London Lennies in Queens, N.Y., Queens Borough president Helen M. Marshall and New York City Council members Elizabeth Crowley (D) and Daniel J. Halloran (R) presented proclamations to restaurant owners Leslie Barnes and Joan Barnes at a celebration, marking April 14 as London Lennie's Day in both New York City and the Borough of Queens.

More than 400 guests attended the celebration, which featured the famous dishes synonymous with London Lennie's, desserts by AmandaSmithCaterers and a custom designed cake from Christine Jeohn of Cakes by Christine and the Cascon Baking Company. Sparkling wines from Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard, Finger Lakes, N.Y., and Samuel Adams beers were raised to toast Queens' "First Family of Fish."
