The newly established Mussel Industry Council has named Peter Burdon as its first executive director. Burdon previously was the executive director of the Exterior Insulation Finish Systems Council of Canada and the CEO of the Ontario Concrete Products Association.

The Mussel Industry Council, formed earlier this year, consists of mussel growers and processors from Atlantic Canada and Quebec and oversees a marketing program designed to increase demand for mussels across North America.
