Seattle's Salish Lodge & Spa welcomed captain Sig Hansen in from the popular Discovery Channel reality television series "Deadliest Catch" to host an Alaska king crab dinner as part of the award-winning culinary program, the Culinary Adventure Series, in December 2008. Salish Lodge & Spa was the first restaurant to partner with Captain Sig Hansen to serve Alaskan king crab caught on the fishing vessel Northwestern, according to the lodge. Justin Sledge, executive chef of Salish Lodge & Spa developed recipes featuring Alaska king crab to incorporate into the menus at Salish Lodge & Spa's restaurants.
